There have been several collections has caught my eye. However, there is one collection of them all which truly express myself in with my “martial fashion aesthetic”. Balmain‘s lookbook for their new collection is truly an extraordinary work of art. Creative Director Olivier Rousteing infuses Asian-inspired swagger into his empire of luxe leather jackets and biker jeans, resulting in wooly kimonos, ornate red dragon-colored woodblock prints, and Nehru blazers. The karate Gi is used from karate practitioners (karateka) as a uniform. As for modern times, The Kimono is only used in Japanese traditional ceremonies.
Great minds truly think alike (I.E. Yves Saint Laurent with Christian Dior). It’s great to see one of the most prestigious fashion houses expressing an aesthetic close to mine in a much more elaborate way shows I am not alone. Fashion exudes us in many way. This collection is it for me.. I love it!
Here are some of the images are the lower end fashion house, Pierre Balmain. The collection is quite impressive , but I am “questioning” this so called Lower price of these garments. The stuff is nice.. waiting on these prices #pow!
A while ago, I gave you guys the scoop based on the status of Christophe Decarnin’s status regarding his
position at Balmain. After 6 years with the label, turns out the designer was released based on certain discrepencies while Olivier Rousteing being the new designer.
Although he joined the Paris fashion house back in 2009, he worked with Roberto Cavalli for 5 years. Personally, I am really anticipating to see the vision Rousteing will manifests! Coming from Cavalli’s background, I am kind of expecting more exotic animal prints, fringes, etc. Its kinda chaotic seeing and hearing some of the shifting regards to fashion designers. Pretty sure there are going to be some fashionistas out there who are skeptical on his work, but Balmain are not stupid. They know what they are doing!
According to style, Christophe Decarnin was a no show for Balmain. He reported to be in a mental hospital based on a nervous breakdown and will not be returning until he fully recovers. Melanie Ward, whose previous experience with Helmut Lang as creative director actually designed the fall 2011 collection along with Decarnin. I am seriously pondering if they still going to be maintaining those high ass prices.
Alright I have been seeing alot of Balmain lately via la blog. Every since Beyonce wore that insanely priced military jacket, I have been keep the prowl on the Parisian fashion house.
The question I am asking is the price of their jackets truly worth it? I mean they are stupid dope and every, but seriously?
Despite how I planning on making in the future, I wouldn’t purchase a garment for only a season. Prices like that should be investment which would be timeless.. Give me a Billionaire Boys Club varsity jacket and I am good!

Balmain has definitely been sweeping the fashion trends like one of Bruce Lee’s leg sweeps! presenting the fall 2011 lookbook for Balmain homme collection is truly where it ats! I love the focus on the layering in each individual looks. The color palette is perhaps ordinary, but its cohesive to the season. Hell I wish I had Balmain Money, this is a great substitute for those who are seek to find looks from this lookbook.

Balmain has definitely been the fashion house who has been CONSISTENTLY pushing the envelope far as trends go. Supermodel Kate Moss is feature in this stupid dope video! Gotta love the black and white video with the contrast dealing with the animation. Pretty creative I must say!
Being draped in Versace and Balmain for V magazine, Nikki Minaj shows us that she’s a mothaf____n monsta!! This chick is not only chic within her own right, but she definitely goes ham! People take notes!
I must admit Monica kills it on an occassion. She is rocking the military jacket from Balmain and the Prada Leopard print pumps. The outfit is alright overall. The jacket is everything (its Balmain duh lol), but it would prefer for a slightly shorter jacket. Without the pumps, the jacket would have gave the impression of a tug of war based on her height. Overall it appears to be a relaxed fit, which should always be the case. She looks good.
