Fhonia Ellis is a fashion designer/hustler who is seeking to take the hip hop fashion to a new perspective along with an avant-garde twist. Recently, the Louisville native has been working beyond measure to make her brand to be reckon with. Through the likes of Mary J. Blige, Coco and Breezy, BET’s 106 & Park, and Jet magazine, she’s off to great start! Through the lens of another Louisville native, Lana Wilson, captures the garments in a very extraordinary way! Order from her collection, here
There is a revolution going on in Louisville. Sooner or later, the world will know we are the “stockholm” of the midwest (soon as we get more people on board). She will be of the tastemakers to make it happen.
Boxing legend Muhammad Ali featured in Louis Vuitton’s new Core Values campaign. Through the lens of Annie Leibovitz, she captured a moment where Ali poses with one of his grandson is a remarkable shot. This shot could inspire the little guy into becoming the next Ali! First off, I believe this is one of the dopest things I have witness. The greatest boxers of all time, who happens to be a Louisville native featured in one of the most popular high fashion campaigns is a huge deal! Ali is the epitome of confidence and hard work. What makes him the greatest is because he told everyone he was. Everything he said he was going to do, he did! This truly inspires me to do the same thing as a martial artist with a dior homme or calvin klein ad (I can dream right lol).
I would say this Canadian fashion label, Phillipe Dubuc campaign caught my attention. I am totally not sure whether its the noir aesthetic with the contemporary looks, but I can say it looks amazing. I will have my karate guards up now judging from these times. I will need something tangible to give a clear nod.
I have not taken full attention to Vera Wang’s collection recently. One thing I do admire about this campaign is the floral draping in the dresses. The scenery and and photograph’s clarity is remarkably beautiful.
The new face of Giorgio Armani, Milou Van Groesen, capturing an androgynous shot through the lens of Mert & Marcus.
Supermodel Gisele Bündchen along with Chris Moore & Simone Nobili featured in the latest campaign for Givenchy. They are clearly not wearing any surf wear, but there is no doubt Riccard Tisci‘s creative director is in like swim wear. For some reason, photographers Mert and Marcus still made sure we concentrate on the garments despite the juxtaposition regards to contrast of scenery.
