New York Fashion Week: Billy Reid A/W 2012 collection

One of the collections I am showing from New York fashion week is from Billy Reid. For those who are not fully aware of Billy Reid, but he is a rising fashion designer who happens to stay true to his roots, his southern roots. This fall 2012 collection is no exception regarding his aesthetic! One thing I appreciate about the collection is he actually fused other geographic locations (far as style) to the garments. For example, my favorite piece is the overcoat with the contrasting fur labels. This is something out would not normally expect to see southern Americans wear; however, Billy didn’t limit himself by slightly adding edge with the sleeveless shearling jacket with tradition knitwear, etc. Overall, its audience looks like it would cater towards the classic gentleman crowd. Needless, I don’t see it as being forward as to being traditional.

BCBG MaxAzria – Fall 2012 NY Fashion Week

This week kicked off with New York Fashion Week.BCBG Maxazria has shown some beautiful ensembles down the runway. The color palette through the collection consisted on neutral and nude colors with the exception of dark reds, pink, and yellow. How the colors arranged does deliver a retro late 60s – early 70s vibe, which appears to be on trend. There are alot of draping and flowing garments. Color-blocking has proved its here to stay again for the fall as dresses are layers with fur vests. The accessories were pretty dope for the ladies; they were a little basic, yet effective. I love the contrasting of the outerwear in the collection as well.. One of the great things I love about BCBG MaxAzria is their direction maintain the equilibrium between American and European design.

Sheila Johnson

I am loving Sheila Johnson’s look! This model is delivering hauteness as if she was born to be in the camera. A top model in the making whose been recently spotted at New York Fashion week, July’s issue of Elle Magazine & the November issue of New York Weddings. She is slowly on the rise to become a supermodel. That third look is screaming sexy!!

The Queen B and The Barbie – New York Fashion 2011

Normally I don’t really like doing candid shots based on whose fitting front row at fashion shows; Judging the looks on their faces, I could not resist. Here you have a THE Queen B of fashion, Anna Wintour, sitting along Hip Hop artist Nicki Minaj at Carolina Herrera‘s fashion show. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but how many is in this picture?I have one for you, SHADE!

Yes there is plenty of shade in this photo and I am not talking about Mrs. Wintour’s glasses either. Could the seating arrangement got mixed up. I am not taking anything from Nicki, but it says alot for a person to be sitting next to the biggest fashion figure in the world.  Nicki doesn’t look happy with they cotton ball candy dress while The queen is.. well I don’t  how she is feeling right now…  However, I must say its priceless

G-star Raw spring/summer collection 2011

I have been aware of G-star for a number of years now. Each collection has never gave the slightest sense of disappointment. This collection consists of Asymetrical sheer blouses, dark rinse sleeveless denim shirts, and just hardcore denim.

The denim already gives an subtle masculine approach. Their jeans did give me a slight baggy appearance, which make me question if this is the beginning of the 90s trend approaching (baggy clothes, stay at home); however, the cut from the pants were not exaggerated and everyone can wear them.
