This past weekend, I met up with a colleague (my photographer) and one of my close martial arts friend whose modeling on a photoshoot for my upcoming t-shirt label, Xiaolin Lotus. I don’t want to give out too much information (Instead, there will be more material at the end); however, I must say it was a great success! All events does not go according to plan. One of the models was not able to show up. Besides on certain circumstances, I was not happy how unprofessional it was. Needless to say, it was a blessing in disguise because the shoot was in and out! Afterwards it was great to catch up with them and express my gratitude for helping out of the two things I am passionate about, martial arts and fashion!
I seriously love working with Renesha (the photographer). She is probably one of the most humble and open-minded people I have ever met. This is perhaps our 4th projekt together. Our artistic chemistry is always head on. It’s almost like finishing someone’s sentence. Challenging ones creativity in friendly competitive way. Her artistic ability is increasing at a progressive pace. Can’t wait to show everyone what is next!
Talking about an legendary shot by Naomi Campbell and Tyson Beckford. Two of the hottest black model laid up butt naked in a photoshoot. I know there are some people out there gagging about this photo, but can’t you blame them? How often are you going to Naomi Campbell up like that? The closest way I will be laid up on her by wearing my Marc by Marc Jacobs with her on it. They also had the nerve to provide a pop of color with the sneakers haha..
All jokes aside, I truly love this image of these two. Rare we will see two revolutionary black supermodel (male and female) on this level capture an image like this, haute. #PureArt
The photos I am showing you are from an extremely great friend and also aspiring fashion stylist, Brandon Lewis with the consulting firm lead by celebrity stylist Olori Swank.
This Dayton native who currently resides in Atlanta has always possessed a touch class and huge dose of swag/style graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications. When we were at Kentucky State University, he was one of the trendsetters who kept it authentic opposed to being another person with a label or following the trend of Ralph Lauren on their backs #kanyeshrug
Through the lens of Marlene Julian and model, Tion Watkins , The concept of the shoot is “Debonair and Disorder” . As Brand0n states, “As we know, life has a tendency to be a battle. Through our fight to secure our standing, we get dirty! we get bruised, but we keep it moving; all maintaining flair and ingenuity, just because we’re worth doing so” .
In conclusion to his statement, you will see the juxtaposition of the styling which is not only chic, but also depicts a perspective on life experiences. This is what fashion and style is all about, personal inspirations. Naturally, image is based on perceptions that essentially association ourselves. Expect to see more of him in the future. My boy is doing it out here!
