Talk that Talk – Rihanna (Esquire UK magazine)

The images of Rihanna‘s shoot for Esquire UK magazine has finally surface. Out of all her recent shoots, I think this is my personal favorite. Honesty, its has nothing to do with her being practically nude in the photo. It is the raw beauty and energy she delivers which makes it simplicity at its finest! This Barbados beauty has made it adamant she loves her some bad boys. I would not say I am a bad boy, but there is a time and place for everything. I can dream, right #kanyeshrug ??

maison martin margiela shades

Granted, they may not block 100% of ultra-violet rays, but that’s hardly the point — Maison Martin Margiela does as only they can with the Wrong Size Sunglasses. The rich, Italian-made tortoiseshell acetate frames are fitted with carefully symmetrical but mismatched lenses for an aesthetic that only Margiela could pull off. You can pick up a pair of these unique sunnies from online fashion boutique SSENSE, where they retail for $645 USD.

Risky Business

Don’t you ever get tired of punching some one else’s clock for living? That is how I felt within the past several months. I currently work as a representative of a publication company (don’t even think asking the name). It is a decent job with decent pay. On the contrary, It’s not what I want to do as a career. Throughout the rapid shift changes in the company has caused some of the clients irate. Judging on the economy’s state, I do not blame some of them. My years in the martial arts has taught me how to maintain self-control in many situations. Patience is wearing very thin with my current occupation.I am currently walking on thin ice.

We all should be grateful we have a job this day and age. Sometimes you have to take what you can get. Not me… I am seeking to take what I want! I am striving for an established career in the fashion world becoming the first martial arts – fashion icon. Sharing my aesthetics and announce a dope intake within the two worlds in pop culture. With my ambition, knowledge, and skill, its bound to happen! After all, these are the 2 things which captivates my persona to share with the world!

Recently I have been selected to be a judge for a fashion event in Indianapolis. The Unzip the Runway competition will be held Friday June 1st. Besides blogging, this is very important event to attend networking with designers and fashion enthusiasts within the region. It’s another great outlet to brand my aesthetics in the industry outside social media. The only discrepancy is I have to work on Friday. Unfortunately, the person who was going to cover my shift reneged on me while facing an ethical dilemma: Attend to the fashion event or increase the chance of losing my job. As a single father, the last thing you want to do is take the risk of unemployed (not to mention, decrease my shopping lifestyle).

Isn’t life all about taking risk? If I was not able to take risk how would I expect to go far in life? There are so many people out in the world who has taken risks and excel. Before you make a risk, you always need to have a strategy. Strategizing your goals makes the probability increase. For example, martial artist always take the risk of being struck. It’s always a 50/50 ratio. You either get hit/miss or get hit. Depending on how you execute your attack is entirely up to the individual. It goes with the same thing with fashion. There will be no such thing as being “fashion forward” if designers were not able taking risk. Fashion would still be in the Victorian era opposed to modern times.

Whenever you are on that ambitious road, there will always be an obstacle blocking your way. You can either yield or jump over the hurdle. The choice is yours!

“Iron Will”

Jackie Chan Vs Benny the Jet

THis is a classic fighting scene from Meals on Wheels! Old school Jackie is always the best in my opinion!! The beauty of the fight was not from the choreography. It was more from Jackie realizing the only way he can conquer his fight is to doing what he does best! In life, we should look at all of our confrontations as such!

Knock it off Guess

I suppose Guess did not see this one coming. Gucci was awarded over $4 million dollars due to the profit Guess made from unauthorized trademarks from their company. The court also granted Gucci a permanent injunction against Guess’ use of three of the four challenged designs. Unfortunately, the payout was only a fraction of the amount Italian fashion asked for ($120 million). They have apparently  “diluted its brand” by imitating four specific Gucci designs: the green and red stripe; the interlocking “G” pattern; the square “G” and the brand name’s delicate script font. Despite the fact this lawsuit started 3 years, I am totally surprised they waited this long to make initiative action beforehand!

Substitution of goods can be economically efficient, but now when a company seeks to use the exact monogram and design scheme continuously is an insult. The consumers knew from jump street where the inspiration derived from. Buyers from various department stores selecting these items should have known better. I wonder how long it’s going to take Polo file suit again U.S.P.A. (wait their tag says, “not affiliated with Polo #majorsideEYE)

Dreya

A new style for women unlike any other. Y-3’s Freya, a sneaker-sandal cocktail explosion resulting in a futuristic gladiator look! Its silhouette is inspired from the original men’s sneaker. Honestly, I see this sandal as being uni-sex. Maybe its just me, but it sure does seem like everything sexy is named “Draya” (from basketball wives) or this case, “Dreya”

Karl Lagerfeld as “God” in Snoop Dogg video

Karl Lagerfeld is most definitely a fashion god, but in his new music video, rapper Snoop Dogg gave the Chaneldesigner a promotion to God of All Things. Both men are major pop culture geniuses, and now they’ve joined forces to pay tribute to the glittering patch of France known as Saint Tropez.

The video opens with Lagerfeld, dressed in immaculate whites, greeting the French singer Jean-Roch in the poofy white clouds of heaven. When Jean-Roch wonders whether they’re in paradise, the Kaiser rebuffs him: “You’ve never realized Saint Tropez is paradise?” The pair looks down upon the earthly world, where Snoop Dogg is ready and waiting to start rapping about Saint Tropez.

The lyrics are goofy (“No matter where I go, no matter where I stay / A piece of my heart will always be in St. Tropez”) and Jean-Roch looks like a little puppy next to Snoop Dogg. The singer nuzzles against the rapper, seemingly giddy to be in such cool company.

The video is a fairly convincing argument for Lagerfeld’s claim that Saint Tropez is paradise: the weather is beautiful, the people are pretty, and there are plenty of pantsless gals to cheer on your bocce ball game.

Givenchy – Resort Collection 2013 (preview)

Riccardo Tisci and Givenchy will be advancing its menswear collection for Resort 2013. Taking pointers from the fall runway collection, the preview of the Resort 2013 range draws its inspiration from similar military tenants and elements. Although this is incredibly noticeable to be Tisci’s work, the Resort 2013 line looks like something which has been designed from the previous collections. I would honestly think this collection is a slight remix of “watch the throne” or whatnot. The collection is not bad if its suppose to define the Givenchy menswear, so be it. Based on the arrangement, I was expecting a different direction.
